Wonderworks in Chagford 10 & 11 December

Celebrity broadcaster Judi Spiers will be
opening the highly acclaimed Wonderworks Contemporary Craft Fair, which will be
raising funds for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

This year, Wonderworks presents 27 exceptional makers from all over the South West, exhibiting a wide range of creative wares including: stunning textiles, children's clothes, leather and metal work, hand thrown ceramics, beautiful contemporary jewellery plus handmade body products. Try on Alexander Aurum's exquisite silver rings and marvel at Adam Cornish's turned wooden bowls. These are just a few of the names you'll see at this year's fair.

Organisers Abigail North and Alison West are Chagford-based potters who run Wonderworks Contemporary Craft Fair to showcase the work of South West Makers.

Abigail said, "This year we are really excited to be supporting JDRF, with a fundraising raffle of beautiful pieces donated by each of the 27 makers, raising funds and awareness of Type 1 diabetes. Alison and I will also be offering a half-day workshop
experience - playing with clay - in return for a donation to JDRF."

Wonderworks is an art and crafts fair of some distinction.  Now in its 14th year, it has gained a loyal following and is an eagerly anticipated event in the annual artist's calendar.

It attracts increasing numbers of visitors to the beautiful and historic Dartmoor town of Chagford, which offers many pleasures including a wide range of independent shops, pubs, cafes and breathtakingly beautiful moorland walks.

Wonderworks Contemporary Craft Fair is a perfect opportunity not only to enjoy some exceptionally exciting Christmas shopping, far away from the bustle of the high street, with a positive plethora of unique and affordable gifts, but is also a chance to 'shop local', supporting the local artisan community.

Chagford's Jubilee Hall has been host to wonderful Wonderworks for over a decade and it has become a gem in the Christmas build-up diary. With fantastic food, drinks and treats available on site throughout the weekend, it provides a magical, seasonal hub for shoppers and craftspeople alike.

Wonderworks will be open on Saturday 10 December from 10am to 5pm and Sunday 11 December from 10am to 4.30pm. Visitors can also rest and indulge in tempting treats from Chagford's wonderful pubs and eateries as well as browsing the Stannary town's beautiful independent shops.
