Historic and stunningly beautiful Chagford on Dartmoor has long been noted as a haven for literary types and the third of its Chagword literary festivals is bringing in some very big names.
Historic and stunningly beautiful Chagford on Dartmoor has long been noted as a haven for literary types and the third of its literary festivals is bringing in some very big names. The impressive line-up includes Michael Morpurgo with a story concert of War Horse,
accompanied by National Theatre songman Ben Murray; Hisham Matar whose book 'The Return' was shortlisted for the prestigious Baillie-Gifford Award; Max Porter who has taken the publishing world by storm with his debut novel Grief is the Thing with Feathers; Kate Adie, author and broadcaster, well-known for her long service as the BBC's Chief News Correspondent; and Patrick Gale with his latest book A Place called Winter for The Great Read event.
